Schroon Lake; Arlean G. Palmer, 96 years old, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2015 at her residence, The Heritage Commons in Ticonderoga, NY.
Arlean was born March 1, 1919 in North Hudson the daughter of the late John and Gladys Gero. She was the oldest of six children.
She was married for 45 years to Franklin Palmer who predeceased her in 2000. They lived in the Schroon Lake area for most of their lives.
She leaves her son Robert (Diane) Duntley of Lake Placid, NY, Two daughters, Nancy Ready and Janet Thatcher of Burlington, Vt., her brother Richard (Rae Marie) Gero, her sister Kay Jenks and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce Decker, brothers Donald and Bernard Gero and sister Pauline Bogle.
She had many friends who will miss her dearly. She was known for her sense of humor and open mind. Arlean lived a good long life, worked hard, sometimes two or three jobs to help support her family. She was strong and independent person and will be remembered with great fondness.
Per Arleans's request she was cremated and her cremated remains laid to rest at the Severance Cemetery beside her husband Franklin and daughter Joyce Decker.
A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday September 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Severance Cemetery.
