Pottersville; Harold William (Hoppy) Frasier 76, left us suddenly on Sunday December 15, 2013 to go home into the arms of the lord.
He was born June 30, 1937 in Hague, NY the son of the late Ethel Frasier. He attended Hague Central School where he was an avid basketball and baseball player, he loved both sports.
When Hoppy was 15 he started in the logging business and never left it, he had his own business for a while and then got out of it and started working for other local loggers. His last employer was Heath Reynolds Logging which was where he was still working at the time of his sudden departure.
Hoppy loved to race anything and everything, starting with stock cars on dirt tracks, boats, snowmobiles, and cars, and in his younger years he loved to water ski and snow ski. He played on the Glendale softball team for many years and was the pitcher, he took great pride in striking out his opponents, which he did a lot.
Hoppy was a very loving and compassionate person.
He married the love of his life on July 15th, 1967, Arleen E. Allard; they shared 46 wonderful years together suffering all their ups and downs together. With their marriage he brought along two daughters, Michelle (Mickey) Monroe and Tina Frasier, and with their union they had four children, Aletha Ann (Bill) Ryan, Stephan Walter Frasier, Deborah Lee (Jimmy) Porter, Christian Harold William (Corina) Frasier, he had 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one more on the way. Besides his wife and children Hoppy also leaves behind a brother Larry Laura) Foote from Ticonderoga.
In addition to his mother He was predeceased by his grandmother Alice Frasier, his sister Elizabeth (Betty) (Boots) Perry and her daughter a special niece to him, Tracy French which Hoppy carried the utmost respect for these women, and his brother Tommy Foote.
Hoppy was an honorary member of the Pottersville Fire Department, and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pottersville.
He leaves behind many friends and the Coffee Club at the Black Bear. He will be surely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Hoppy will take one last ride on the back of the log truck from the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home 1019 US Rt. 9 in Schroon Lake to the Pottersville Methodist Church for his service at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 21, 2013.
Friends may call at the Kelly Funeral home in Schroon Lake Friday December 20, 2013 from 2:00 till 4:00 and 6:00 till 8:00 PM.
Contributions in memory of Hoppy may be made to the Cancer Society.
