It is with great sadness, the family of Judy Blanchette, 75, announces the sudden passing of their dear wife, mother, grandmother and friend on March 15, 2018.
Judy was born October 31, 1942 in Plattsburgh, NY. She was the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Marie (Borrie) Garrand. She grew up in Moores, NY and later moved to Tahawus, then to Newcomb where she resided.
She married her husband, Joseph Andrew Blanchette in 1980. She enjoyed her life with her husband and all her animals on their farm.
Judy loved to quilt, knit and spin wool in her woolery (Upper Hudson Woolery). She loved baking and cooking, sharing recipes and always putting everyone else first. She worked for NYS for many years, retired and dedicated her time to her family.
Her greatest love was her five children, her 14 grandchildren, her three step grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. They will all miss her unconditionally and will remember all what she has taught us. The family finds comfort and believes she is at peace with her mother (Marie Garrand), whom we have all been carrying her heart in our hearts.
Judy is survived by her husband Joseph Andrew Blanchette; her five children, Laura (Mark) Miller, Sherri (Jim) Thompson, Julie Bowman and fiancé (Ron Scott), Niles Jr. (Beth) Bush, Philip (Chrissy) Bush; her sister, Sandra Lacy; her brother, Michael (Shirley) Garrand.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11a.m. with Rev. Peter Berg, pastor of St. Therese's Roman Catholic Church in Newcomb, officiating. Burial will be in the spring around Memorial Day at St. Therese's Cemetery in Newcomb.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Judy's memory can be made to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center or any local SPCA.
Arrangements are in the care of Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home Schroon Lake, NY.
