Mariette Lapointe Goulet

Newcomb, NY; Mariette (Lapointe) Goulet, 92, passed away December 15, 2023, at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Mariette was born May 14, 1931, in Lambton, Quebec, Canada the daughter of the late Edmond and Rosea (Bernier) Lapointe.

Mariette was the loving wife of 61 years to her departed husband Leandre Goulet and beloved mother to recently departed son Gerald Goulet. Mariette is survived by her two daughters Linda Amado, husband Mitchell, of Saratoga Springs, NY and their children Anthony and Michele; and Mona McAuliffe, husband Robert, of Massillon, OH, and their children, Joseph and Brian, her sister Fernande Bouffard and brother Jean Lapointe of Canada.

Mariette was predeceased by her brothers Leo Lapointe, Phillippe Lapointe, Benoit Lapointe, Raymond Lapointe, and Rheo Lapointe, her sisters Beatrice Rousseau, Yvette Pepin, and Celine Rodrigue.

Mariette was a very talented seamstress who worked at a department store in Montreal, Quebec before marrying Leandre on August 11, 1956. Mariette dedicated her life to taking care of family, raising her children, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was treasured by her family and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends may visit the family from 10:00 AM until the mass on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at St Therese Catholic Church 18 Adams Lane in Newcomb, NY.

A Christian Mass will be offered on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 11:00 Am at St. Therese Catholic Church in Newcomb, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mariette’s memory to the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation-Care Management Fund, 126 South Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
