Alice E. Stowell

South Schroon, Alice E. (Peanie) Stowell 80, passed away Saturday evening July 23, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Alice was born Dec. 4, 1935 in North Hudson the daughter of the late Emery and Lydia North Moses.
Alice was also predeceased by her husband Irwin A. Stowell, her sisters Marge DeLorme, Mary Anslow and Mildred Dobie, her brothers Clarence, Norman (Bill), Clifton (Buck), Glen, Bernard, Roy and Bob Moses.
Alice was a telephone operator for many years until automation took over, she was a clerk at the Grand Union until her retirement.
She served on the Schroon Lake Emergency Squad for many years and was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
She enjoyed doing ceramics, singing and dancing.
Alice is survived by her beloved children, Deborah, Michael (Becky), Terry (Susan), Valerie (Richard) Shaut, Scott (Roxanne) and Erin (Jenny), her brother John (Val) of Texas, her grandchildren, Rachel, Christian, Daniel, Melinda, Timothy, Samantha, Grant, Morgan and Shannon and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 27. 2016 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Schroon Lake, a joint Interment with her husband Irwin will follow at the North Hudson Catholic Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials take the form of donations to the Fort Hudson Foundation, Fort Edward, NY, the Alzheimer's Foundation, or the Schroon Lake Volunteer Fire Det. Ladies Auxilary, Schroon Lake, NY 12870
