Chilson; Francis (Punch) Bright passed away Tuesday Dec., 8, 2015. He was born to the late Eugene and Gladys (Wright) Bright on Sept. 2, 1925 in Ticonderoga, NY.
He was also predeceased by his sister Helen Martin.
He married Pauline Porter on June 26, 1950, and had just celebrated 65 years of marriage.
He was employed during WW II in the mines, later at International Paper Co. He helped start B. & B. Motors, worked for U.S.P.S. delivering mail, for Green Thumb at the rest area on the Northway and at Ft. Ticonderoga.
He was a Master Mason for 68 years and was a founder of the Chilson Vol. Fire Dept.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, playing with his dogs, square dancing, playing cards, camping and the Yankees.
Besides his wife Pauline, he is survived by his three children, Pam, Terry and David, his four brothers, Jack of Crown Point, Norman, Robert and Thomas, all of Ticonderoga, his three sisters, Louise Johnson of Port Henry, Shirley Noel and Ruth Burnes of Ticonderoga and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday Dec, 15 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Ticonderoga with the Rev. Scott Tyler officiating. During the service, the Chilson Vol. Fire Dept. and the Masons will honor Francis for his years of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of donations to the Masonic Lodge or the Chilson Vol. Fire Department.
