November 11, 1938 ~ June 18, 2017 (age 78)
Newcomb, NY. George H. Canon 78 passed away early Sunday morning June, 18 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
George was born November 11, 1938 in Indian Lake NY, the son of the Late Alfred and Nettie Walton Canon, parents who were very proud of their son's accomplishments in life.

George graduated as Valvictorian of his class at Newcomb Central School in 1957, this was his 60th anniversary as an alumni. He was also a graduate of Albany Business College.
George has been married to Monica Young since 2014.
George, sometimes referred to as the "Godfather of preserving many Historic places in the Adirondacks" was very active politically both locally and Statewide. George was unique individual, you always knew exactly where he stood, if he liked you, you knew it, and if he didn't you knew that also. He had friends everywhere and from all walks of life.
