Ticonderoga, NY, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of James M. Mingo, 53 September 8, 2016 .
James, better known as Jim, was born February 12, 1963 in Ticonderoga, the son of John H. and Kay ( Mann) Mingo.
Jim was predeceased by his sister Jeanne M. Mingo August 29, 2016 and his aunt Carol Lang.
Jim grew up in Schroon Lake, graduating as Salutatorian from Schroon Lake Central School in 1981.He served in the United States Air Force from 1981 until his honorable discharge in 1990. While in the Air Force, he trained and functioned as a Slavic crypto linguist. Jim was very versatile and could learn new skills quickly. He was a car mechanic before he started working at the International Paper Mill in Ti. He started in the labor pool and worked his way up to become an Electrician,
Besides being good at his job, Jim was a master at life. Jim was loyal, respectful and content with the simple things. He was not a man of excess. He loved his family and the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing. If you had a question you'd ask Jim. If you wanted an answer, he'd make you work for it. Jim had a great eye for photography. Jim had a big heart and a lot of love inside. It is never long enough, but we are all so lucky to have been able to experience Jim and be a part of his life and he, part of ours.
