Walter W. Arlen Sr., 86, passed away April 7, 2014 at Heritage Commons nursing home in Ticonderoga, N.Y. after an extended illness.
Walter was born September 23, 1927 in East Orange NJ the son of the late Walter E. and Emma French Arlen.
Walter was predeceased by his wife Rae Janice Arlen and his son Walter W. Arlen Jr.
Walter graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1945
Walter resided in Schroon Lake for the last 34 years, prior to that he and his wife resided in East Orange, Verona and Bloomfield, N.J..
Walter owned an automobile repair business in Bloomfield N.J..
Walter was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946.
Walter was a member of the Schroon Lake Community Church and the Schroon Lake Fish and Game Club.
Survivors include his sisters, Lois (Bill) Poterala of Koller,TX. and Sandra Kranenburg, of Palmyra, Va., his daughter-in-law Edith Arlen of Rockaway, NJ, his grandchildren Michele (Arlen) Vitale, Kristen, Michael, and Kimberly; great grandsons, Anthony and Dominic, and nephews William and Kenneth and niece, Nancy.
Cremation took place at Pine View Crematory.
