William Bolz Obituary
Schroon Lake; William W. Bolz Jr., 81, passed away at home with his family Monday August 21, 2017.
Bill, the son of the late William W. and Kunigunde (List) Bolz Sr., was raised in New Hampshire. That is where he developed the love of the outdoors which would continue throughout his life. He could always be found fishing, hunting, and enjoying time with his parents and beloved dog Skippy. He was raised to be a proud first-generation American with Swiss heritage.
Following college in New Hampshire, he moved to Poughkeepsie, NY to pursue a career in engineering at IBM, where he was a dedicated employee for over 30 years. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Wohlfuhrt. They raised two cherished daughters, Susan H, Kugler and Linda L. Beers, and enjoyed many happy years camping across the country together. There wasn't a lake he came across that he didn't fish.
He spent 10 years in Schroon Lake fulfilling his dream to live in the Adirondacks surrounded by his daughters and grandchildren. Throughout these years, his loving companion Connie Bluteau was by his side, whether to visit a new fishing hole or try a new restaurant. When not enjoying the outdoors, Bill could be found at the kitchen table telling animated stories to his loving grandchildren.
Beside his parents, Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Bolz; and dear friend Francis Dalbo. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Kugler of Revena, NY and Linda Beers of Schroon Lake, NY and partner Connie Bluteau of Schroon Lake, NY. He will be truly missed by his grandchildren, William, Andrew, Nicole, Wesley, and Mitchell, as well as his great grandchildren, Sebastian and Cassie.
A Lutheran funeral service will be held Friday afternoon August 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home 1019 US Rt. 9, Schroon Lake, NY. All are invited to a celebration of life following the service.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from, 12 noon until 2:00 PM.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's honor can be made to Mountain Lakes services Foundation.
