In Memory of David McClure Moffat
Schroon Lake; David McClure Moffat went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2025, at home with his wife and grandson at his side. David was born on December 12, 1944, to the late David Moffat and Dorothy Schmitz Moffat.
David proudly served in the US Army, stationed in Vietnam from 1965-1968. After his commendable service, he embraced a career in truck driving, which eventually led him to retire and move to Schroon Lake to be closer to his family. In addition to being a dedicated professional, David was an avid sportsman and a passionate model train enthusiast.
Above all, David was a man of integrity, compassion, and unwavering love. His life was a testament to these qualities, earning him the admiration and respect of those who knew him.
David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol; his son, David Moffat; his daughter, Jessica Botterbusch, and her husband, Tim; and his 5 cherished grandchildren.He also leaves behind his twin sister Diane (Bruce) Benson, His brother Robert Moffat, and sisters, Doris Gorga and Linda Pardus.
David McClure Moffat will be remembered not only as a proud veteran and hardworking man but also as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His spirit of generosity, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, David—your legacy of love and honor will never be forgotten.
Friends and family may call at the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home, 1019 US Rt. 9, Schroon Lake, NY on Monday, March 31st, from 1:30 until 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service.
Interment, with full Military Honors, will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY, at a later date.
