Dawn Marie Rivenburgh

Dawn Marie (Cummings) Rivenburgh, 77 years old was born July 9, 1945, at St. Mary’s Hospital in troy, NY, the daughter to the late William L. Cummings and Margaret Keenan Cummings Buzzi. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend has passed away peacefully at Evergreen Commons Nursing facility in East Greenbush, NY.

Dawn was predeceased by her son John Joseph Cummings, brothers William Cummings, Larry Cummings, John Cumming’s mother Margaret (Ann) Keenan Cummings Buzzi, Father William L. (Roy) Cummings, sister Patricia Lavin and husband Wesley (Perry) Rivenburgh.

Dawn attended Minerva Central School.

Dawn was married to Wesley (Perry) Rivenburgh the love of her life until his death in 1993. She raised 3 children, John, Randy, and Lisa.

Survivors include her sister Margaret (Peggy) Dugan, daughter Lisa Thomas and son Randy Cummings (Judy), and her 6 beautiful grandchildren, Jamie Cummings, Anthony Thomas, John Cummings, Angela Thomas, Gianna Thomas, and Joseph Cummings, and was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren, Christopher John (CJ) Maverick, and Charles and Everleigh Rose, friends and many nieces and nephews.

Dawn enjoyed time with her family the most. She adored her grandchildren and was always there for them while growing up. She also enjoyed activities at Evergreen Commons. Her favorites were concerts, movies, dining with her friends and bingo, and long meaningful conversations with her loved ones.

Mom had many medical diagnoses over the years yet remained positive and always pushed through for her independence. Love of God and family were always her inspiration. She was a strong inspiration to keep moving forward and will be remembered as a courageous and resilient woman by all who knew and loved her and will be missed by all.

The family would like to thank the staff that took their time and care to make her days happier at the nursing home and for their genuine kindness and professional care of Dawn. A special thank you to her Nurse Practitioner Beth Jones for years of dedicated care and to the Activities Department at Evergreen (Carla Yaddow) for inspiring my mom to live her best life. A very special thank you to our dear friend Mary Trombley for her special love and visits with Dawn.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday April 25th at noon at the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home in Schroon Lake. Burial will follow in the Minerva Baptist Cemetery, Minerva, NY.,
