Elaine Mary Cirigliano

 Schroon Lake: Elaine Mary Cirigliano, 70, of Schroon Lake, NY, passed away on February 26, 2024, at home, surrounded by family and loved ones, after suffering brain cancer as a result of a bad fall.

Elaine was born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 7, 1953, to Liberty Travilous and David DePattie. In 1985, she graduated from the College of Staten Island with a bachelor’s in biology. While in college, she created (and was the head of) her biology club and eventually made the Who’s Who Among Students list. At one time, she was also the owner of her own Silk Florist Shop, but after receiving a Lupus diagnosis, she became a full-time homemaker.

Approximately seven years ago, Elaine came to live with her son Joseph Cirigliano, grandson Cody Cirigliano, and granddaughter Kayla Cirigliano due to showing signs of dementia. We knew we had to show her the best years of her life while living with us to make the best of a bad situation. We took her to live shows, Comic Con, the drive-in-movie, theatre, restaurants, the beach, car shows, arcades, and even a few vacations in the city to see Rockefeller Center during the holidays, and boy did she love every minute of it.

Elaine enjoyed singing along to her favorite bands and musicians, such as Eric Clapton, doing crosswords on the porch, watching movies with her family, weeding the garden in the summertime, going out for ice cream, playing board games, and seeing new places.

Elaine was such a vibrant person; she lit up a room, and everyone who met her will never forget her. From her contagious laugh to her colorful vocabulary, she was truly a riot to be around and will be deeply missed.

Elaine is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Cirigliano Sr., and her parents, Liberty and David. She is survived by her son, Joseph Cirigliano Jr., Grandson, Cody Cirigliano, and granddaughter, Kayla Cirigliano.
