Geraldine J. Meehan

Minerva: Geraldine Joan (Kelly) Meehan, 85, passed away on January 31, 2023, at Elderwood at North Creek after a long illness.

Geraldine was born February 15, 1937, in Albany, NY, the daughter of Richard and Kathryn H. Flatgen Kelly.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years John T. Meehan Sr., two sons, John and Thomas Meehan, and her granddaughter Angela M. Badgley.

She was the most loving daughter, wife, sister, and mother. Always seemed to have more to give, always there for her family without expectations. Foster parent to several children, her heart always had room for one more.

The world will not be as bright without her, however, her love of God and her religion leaves us knowing she is lighting the heavens with her smile as she is reunited with loved ones gone before.

Survivors include her children, Doreen Burgett of Middleburgh, Kathleen (Larry) Arnold of Minerva, John (Yvonne) Meehan Jr., of Minerva, Bonnie (Stephen) McNally of Olmstedville, Jennifer (Brad) Dunkley of South Glens falls, Jessica Meehan of Westport, and Christopher (Gabrielle) Meehan of Sparta, NJ. 15 Grandchildren, Anthea, Brad, Theresa, Thomas, Trevor, Kerrigan, Shannen, Kagney, Nicole, Ian, Aaron, Gavin, Kayden, Liam, and Violet, and 15 great-grandchildren.

She will be celebrated with a funeral mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Church Street, Olmstedville, NY on Monday, February 6, at 11:00 AM., it was her wish that there be no reception.

The family suggests memorial donations be made in her name to the “Minerva Youth Program” to honor her love of children.
