Josephine M. Bamford

Schroon Lake: Josephine M. Bamford, born November 7, 1926, died peacefully on November 29, 2023, she was 97 years old.

Jo is survived by her two children, son Bill Bamford Jr. and wife Ronnie, and daughter Tammy Vonie and husband Peter; daughter-in-law Shirley Bamford; grandsons Bill Bamford III and wife Kristen, Gene Clifford and wife Cathy, Michael Clifford and wife Christy; granddaughter Valerie Clifford; her beloved great-grandchildren Joshua Clifford, Bill Bamford IV, Finnegan Bamford, and Hunter (Pippen) Bamford; and many nieces and nephews. Jo was predeceased by her husband William J. Bamford and two sons Neil and Kenneth Bamford as well as her parents a brother and several sisters.

Originally from New Jersey, Jo moved to Schroon Lake in 1947 where she lived and worked for the past 76 years. Jo loved people and dedicated her work life to the food service industry working in several different restaurants in Schroon Lake. Most of that time was spent working at Drakes Restaurant under the original owner Ann Drake, and subsequent owners Mike Marnell and Tony Bartolomeo.

Friends and family may call on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Rt. 9 In Schroon Lake, NY. A service at the church will immediately follow.
