Kenneth Armstrong Obituary

Schroon Lake; Kenneth F. Armstrong, 91, passed away Friday Dec. 22, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital after an extended illness.
Ken was born March 12, 1926 in Ticonderoga, NY the son of the late Robert and Leona (Wells) Armstrong.
Ken was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School. He joined the US Army 1945 and was assigned to the U.S. Constabulary in Ulm, Germany he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in September of 1947. He returned to work construction building "The Stewarts Bridge Dam" in Hadley, NY.
Ken married Rosalene R. Moses September 28, 1948, they enjoyed over 62 loving years of marriage until her death July 17, 2011. They enjoyed traveling with their camper for over 28 winters in Florida, Arizona and Texas.
Ken was also predeceased by his sisters Jane Moore, Joyce Hozley, Mary Alice Natale and Kathleen Whitty and his brother Robert Jr.
Ken joined the NY State Police in 1952, he was assigned to S.P. Stations around the North Country and in 1960 he was assigned to Schroon Lake and worked in the Schroon Lake area for 12 years prior to his retirement in 1972. He was a lifetime member of Former New York State Troopers Association.
He was elected Town Justice of the Town of Schroon in 1976 and served until he retired in 1993. He was a past President of the Essex County Magistrates Association. He was a former member of the Schroon Lake Emergency Squad. In 1993 he was hired as caretaker of the Severance Cemetery, he retired in 2014.
Ken is survived by his son Lester Armstrong and his mate Laura and her family, his brother John and Niki of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday December 28, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home 1019 US Rt. 9 Schroon Lake. Interment with Military Honor's will be at the convenience of the family in the Severance Cemetery in the spring.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from.2:00 until 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials take the form of donations to the Schroon Lake Emergency Squad, Schroon Lake, NY 12870
