Newcomb: The world became brighter on Feb. 24, 1965, the day Kevin J. Dewey was born. Kevin sadly passed away after a valiant battle with cancer.
Kevin graduated from Hudson Falls High School, where he ran cross-country track and learned how to work hard from his coach.
These lessons paid off, and Kevin worked hard for his family as a truck driver and mechanic. Kevin loved the outdoors especially time spent with his best friend Stanley Strainer in Newcomb as a young teenager, those memories brought him back to Newcomb in 2011, as a permanent resident.
Kevin had many passions hunting and fishing with his children, passing on the skills and the stories. Spending time with his beloved grandchildren whom he cherished. Winter was Kevins favorite season, sledding, snowmobiling, hunting, and ice fishing. Kevin was president of the Newcomb snowmobile Club, he loved to groom the trails, meet people and create white gold.
Kevin is survived by his wife Suzanne Dewey of Newcomb; his children, Kaneesha Dewey and fiancée Eric Deyette of Hudson Falls, Zack Dewey of Hudson Falls, Kimberly Marviglio (Ryan) of White Hall, and Andrew Sanders (Gwen) of Newcomb; his grandchildren, Hunter, Ryleigh, and Royce; his sister Lisa Saville (Ken); his brothers Joe Cenate (Liz) of Hudson Falls, Mike Dewey (Stacey) of Argyle, and Scott Dewey of Hartford.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Linda Cenate and Milton Dewey, and his brother, Mark Cenate.
Kevin is loved by many and missed by all.
The family would like to thank High Peaks Hospice for its compassion and help in navigating this sorrow.
Donations can be made in Kevin's memory to the Newcomb /snowmobile Club, Newcomb, NY. 12852, or High Peaks Hospice, PO box 205, Mineville, NY 12956.
