Marielle Anne Stringer

Castleton/Newcomb, Marielle Anne Stringer, 88 died Thursday morning October 5, 2023, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Saint-Martin de Beauce, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Florien and Marie-Reine Bilodeau.

She was the wife of the late James H. Stringer (2004), whom she married in 1973, and her first husband, Adrien Thibodeau who passed away in 1995.

Marielle moved to Newcomb in 1957 and worked as a clerk for the Adirondack Museum for many years. She loved her job and enjoyed her co-workers and all the wonderful customers she met. She was an active member of Saint Therese’s Catholic Church in Newcomb.

She is survived by four sons, Michel Thibodeau (Donna), Denis Thibodeau (Francine), Ricky Thibodeau (Laurie), Stacy Stringer (Amy), and her stepchildren, Lowell Stringer (Linda), Bob Stringer, Mary Cooper (Rene) and Paul Stringer; her grandchildren, Nicole (David), Amanda (Nathan), Andre, Ryan (Amy), Juliette, Jonathan, Gabrielle and Kaelynn; five great-grandchildren, who loved to call her Gigi, as well as several nieces and nephews, who she loved very much, five sisters, Yolande, Francine, Nicole, Cecile, and Celine and one brother Gaetan. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jean-Marc and Yvon, and one sister, Gabrielle.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Therese's Catholic Church 18 Adams Lane, in Newcomb, NY. Monday morning October 9, 2023, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at which time a mass of Christian Burial will be offered by the Rev. Jim Teti Pastor.

A gathering will take place following the Funeral Mass at the Newcomb Fire Hall to celebrate Marielle’s life. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for Marielle take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
