Michael S "Zeke" Wells

Gilboa, NY: Michael S. Wells 64, What a strange trip it has been for Michael, passing on February 8, 2024, losing to cancer.

Mike, also known as “Zeke.” was the son of the late Richard and Hilda Wells born on August 5, 1959.

Zeke loved living in Gilboa. He lived off the grid for many years until his illness forced him to live with running water and electricity.

Zeke had many different jobs over the years, but his favorite and most rewarding was the Great Camp Santanoni refurbishing in Newcomb, NY. Zeke started building cigar box guitars as a hobby, not to sell. He also enjoyed gardening and loved the Harvest season, and Supertramp.

In addition to his parents, Zeke was predeceased by his brother Carl Russell and Stepfather Dave “Dudes” Barton.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother Phil (Kathy) Russell, his sisters, Hazel, and Bonnie Wells, his “Number one sister-in-law” Renee Babineau, sister-in-law Mary Jo Russell, sons, Mickey and Jake Ritson and granddaughter Judith. Also, nieces and nephews; Corrina (Al) Maillo, Justin (Cherie) Russell, Carlina Barrows, Carl (Amber) Russell, great nieces and nephews; Austin, Alyssa, Ashton, Abby, Nicholas, Jordan, Joelle, Ella and Connor. His good friends, he counted on before and during his illness, Lance, Wayne, Johnny, Nick, Kathleen, and Bernie.

Family and friends will be celebrating Zeke’s life this summer. In memory of Michael “Zeke” please consider becoming an organ donor.
