Schroon Lake, Nicholas S. DeLiberato, 71, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
Born on July 25, 1952, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the eldest son of the late Joseph and Adele (Caso) DeLiberato.
A boundless adventurer, Nick traveled around the country and around the world in the salad days of his youth, attending the University of Miami for his undergraduate and UCLA for his Master's. A passionate educator, Nick spent nearly 40 years as a Social Studies and Gifted and Talented Teacher, a position he held in high regard even to the last days of his life.
Those who knew Nick were infected by his love of all music, great and small. A lifelong fan of Motown, Country Music, and Worship Songs, to him, the greatest lessons, wisdom, joy, and sorrow came through music. Their transcendent brilliance was the fire that stoked his heart.
A lover of life and all its joys, Nick was especially fond of the Christmas season. He was the purist living embodiment of “He knew how to keep Christmas well. If any man alive possessed the knowledge, may that be truly said of us, and all of us! God Bless, everyone.” He defined his life by this credo, one from his most cherished and beloved books, one which he has reread for the last thirty-five years.
His greatest passion of all was that of his family A devoted and loving father and husband, his priority was his time with his children and his wife., the love of his life, providing them with unending love and support, and enriching their minds with travel and the word of the lord. His three beloved grandchildren brought upon a love unmatched, and he made sure he spent as much time with them as he did his own children, if not more so.
Our beloved “Daddy D” will be missed beyond words.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-nine years, Sally (Stockbarger) DeLiberato, his two sons, Joseph (Meridith) DeLiberato, and Daniel (Michaela) DeLiberato, and his three grandchildren: Lucy, George, and Gabriel.
No services will be held at this moment, but a celebration of his life will take place at a later date and time.
In place of flowers or donations, please honor Nicholas DeLiberato's memory by being kind to one another, spreading peace, telling your loved ones how much they mean to you, calling your parents to tell them you love them, and cherishing every joy afforded to you in your life.
