Paul L. Bubar

Pottersville, NY. & Hudson, Fl.

On Saturday, May 16th, 2020, Paul L. Bubar, loving husband and father of four children, went home to be his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the age of 87.

Paul was born March 6, 1933 to Ben and Mary (Heal) Bubar in the Town of Blaine, Maine. The youngest of five sons and a daughter, Paul graduated from a one room schoolhouse in 1949 at the age of 16. He went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Barrington Bible School and later an honorary PHD from Tennessee Temple University.

Paul was on his way to starting a charter airline when God changed his heart in 1955. He sold the business and took a pastorate position in Northfield, Ma. It was at Northfield that Paul became acquainted with Jack Wyrtzen and Word of Life Fellowship. In 1963, Paul left his church to begin the Word of life Bible Club ministry with Word of Life.   He went on to serve with Word of Life for over 60 years, serving as Clubs Founder and Director, Overseas Director, Director of Word of Life Inn, and several other positions of need in the ministry.

Paul loved cars, airplanes, motorcycles, a good joke and a good meal, but most of all, Paul’s passion was his relationship with Jesus, knowing Him and making Him Known to the world. He lived a life of lasting impact on so many people because he cared about them sincerely.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Benny and Mary, his siblings, Ben, Joe, Rachel, John and David, and his son, Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley, his sons, David and Jonathan and his daughter Sarah as well as six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Jack Wyrtzen Center at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Pottersville, NY on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 6:30 PM.
