Schroon Lake

Ralph John Cooke, born on January 24, 1934, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 91. He retired from the Hudson County New Jersey Department of Social Services and made his home in Schroon Lake for the past 48 years. During his years in the community, he served as a trustee on the Schroon Lake Library Board, director and president of the Schroon Lake Senior Citizens Center, as well as being a lifetime member. He was director and docent for the Schroon Lake Historical Society. Ralph was a proud Army Veteran and member of the American Legion and the VFW, as well as the Town of Schroon Lions Club, he was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Ralph was known around town as an avid reader, a well-dressed gentleman and for generosity. Ralph will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In keeping with his wishes, he asked that everyone know how truly grateful he was for our kindness, generosity, and friendship over the past many years. He also wanted you to remember him in your prayers and to take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.
