Stanley LaLonde Obituary

Newcomb, NY, Stanley Kenneth LaLonde, 87, passed away from complications of pneumonia on February 9, 2019.

Stan is survived by his three children, Linda Spengler, Larry LaLonde and Luanne LaLonde, four grandchildren, Laura, Daniel, Miranda and Michelle, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was welcomed into the lives of many people who will miss him as a friend.

Stan graduated from Newcomb Central School and lived in Newcomb for many years, as well as in Long Lake where he raised his family. He worked for NL Industries as Tahawus photographer and mine planner. He was a creative photographer, and most photos in the company magazine “Cloudsplitter” were taken by Stan. Many people also remember him as their wedding photographer.

Stan was known best for his great sense of humor and many people have amusing stories of time spent with him. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, was a good team bowler and an avid golfer throughout his life, playing into his 80s. People who knew Stan during the last 30 years also knew his beloved retrievers Spike, Dusty, Molly and Sophie.

Stan was the last survivor of a large Lake Placid family: sisters Sue Pooler and Anna Williams and brothers Phil, Don, Ernie, Dick and Hank.

There will a service and interment in the spring in the Newcomb Cemetery with the date to be announced.

He wished donations in his memory be made to the Newcomb Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 98, Newcomb, NY 12852, or Tri- Lakes Humane Society, PO Box 1111, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
