William Daniel Swanson

Schroon Lake: William Daniel Swanson, went Home to be with the Lord on August 7th, 2023. He was born on September 9th, 1945, he was 77 years old at the moment he saw the face of his precious Savior.

He was a true renaissance man, full of brilliant ideas and glowing dreams including establishing a fine woodworking business. He had the talent and skill to have made it a reality had he been able to harness his beautiful mind and make it work for him. Among the projects he saw completed during his lifetime are the access ramp at Mountainside Bible Chapel, the Lake George Mansion of Mike Tyson, and the redesign of Grace Evangelical Church in Beloit, Wisconsin. These were executed with the comprehensive perfection of research and design and meticulous attention to detail that characterized all his projects.

The son of the late Ebba and Ray Swanson, Bill is survived by his sister Shirley Bubar, wife Nancy Swanson, daughter Sanna Swanson, Nephews Jonathan and David Bubar, niece Sarah Dever, and multiple other family members. He cherished and delighted in each one. He was a loyal friend and found staunch advocates in those who saw beneath a sometimes-prickly surface to his deep, true heart.

Bill’s best ministry was engaging strangers in conversation and listening to their stories. He had a genuine interest in people. He impacted countless lives with his encouragement to seek Christ and listen to Chuck Swindoll. He was a regular supporter of the Insight For Living ministry and his local church.

A memorial service will be held a 2 PM on his birthday, September 9th, 2023, at Mountainside Bible Chapel in Schroon Lake, New York.
